In regulated systems, the line between "observability" and "compliance evidence" is narrower than most engineers assume. Both answer the same question in different tense: did the system behave the way we claimed it would.
The traces you capture for an on-call engineer and the logs your auditor asks for are the same artifact, read with different questions in mind. Treating them as one pipeline, rather than two parallel ones, tends to improve both.
